When the shards and fragments of what had once been Dr. Donald B. MacGowan washed-up on the shores of Kona, Hawaii, they were magically transformed into DrBlizzardo--washed away by the warm tropical currents was the internationally-recognized scientist; gone was the one-time punk rock recording nobody; the aspiring rock climber--gone, the telemark ski addict, the big mountain afficianado, the reciter of Jack Kerouac, Gary Snyder and e.e.cummings poems, the kayaker of big rivers and angry streams--gone. DrBlizzardo quietly and humbly inhabits Kailua Kona, doing environmental good works, surfing the be-jeezis out of local waves and occasionally writing first-rate political commentary for local papers that has recently been lauded as: "Ignorant", "Arrogant" and "Totally Insane".
