We are Falling Branch String Band from Elkins. WV. Our music is mostly old-time traditional american mountain music. We enjoy vocals and instrumentals played in a friendly dignified way that shows our respect for the music and the people who created it. We do not try to recreate the recorded or original source of the music but instead we interprit and arrange it in our style. We do not write our own music because we are not good at that (which we believe is true of most people). We believe that there is plenty of very good music in the tradition that should be kept alive and passed down to future generations of Americans. This we try to do.
