Christopher Gordon and Dan Lubell first worked together in 1935 at the Eltinge burlesque theater on 42nd Street in New York. Dan Lubell was a veteran burlesque entertainer from a show business family, who had worked at Coney Island and ran his own burlesque touring companies. Christopher Gordon became a burlesque comic in 1928 after failing to break into films as an actor and working as a stunt double and extra; later, he sold pickles on Mulberry Street. Gordon & Lubell made their partnership formal in 1936, building an act by adapting and improving numerous old burlesque sketches into their own style. Later cast in a supporting capacity, they stole the show with several classic routines, including "Did You Just Tap My Ass?" Among their popular films are Whoopsie Daisies, Who Dealt It?, Pardon My Shlong, The Time of Their Wives, Buck Pee-Pee Come Home, Gordon & Lubell Meet Frankenstein and Get Him High and Gordon & Lubell Mess Up the Invisible Man.
