I'm the Author of the newly released book called, The Fort Living Room Transition Course - prepared military for civilian success! We have super-high unemployment rates for military veterans, we have National Guard and Reservists returning from deployment to UNEMPLOYMENT, we have Veterans on the street, we have military folks burying their talent and getting "settle for jobs" As a former Junior Military Officer, I recognized that rank offered me opportunities that many in the military could not take advantage of based on rank. For example, a high-ranking officer may rub elbows with industry and easily transition into a civilian career. Junior Military Officers (that's pay grade O-1 through O-3)find lots of Recruiters and Headhunters just by picking up the ____ Times newspaper for their branch of service. Some military folks retire and expect to live off of half of what they could not afford to live off of in the first place. What about everyone else?
