La Guera Tamalera [Wed-dah Tah-mah-led-dah] is an organic catering business out of Silver Lake, CA. Our menu is based on traditional recipes from a family of tamaleros from Veracruz, Mexico, who have been making and selling tamales for generations. Just like our mentors, we hand-make and -tie all our tamales, and our salsas and broths are made from scratch using fresh ingredients. The only difference is: We’ve left out the lard and trans fat, and we've updated the recipes to use organic, local ingredients whenever possible. Along with our flagship “shameless carnivore” flavors, including Organic Free-Range Chicken in Green Sauce and Family Farmed Pork in Red Sauce, we also offer a tantalizing selection of vegetarian and vegan tamales, both savory and sweet.
