UMTV is an initiative of United Methodist Communications. As a result of Sept. 11, we feel there’s a renewed desire among people to improve their quality of life. We are interested in telling stories about people making a difference and stories that talk about moral and ethical challenges we now face as a culture. These are story ideas any local news director or assignment editor would be interested in producing, but often lack resources with which to do so. We want to inspire and provoke thought with our 1:30 segments. The purpose of UMTV.org is for news producers, directors and assignment editors to have access to our stories. If a station is interested in airing our material we will send a dub of each story along with scripts and locator information. We hope to be a resource for weekend producers struggling to find meaningful content for their shows.
