Coming off the legendary forthcoming album, Chinese Democracy (now slated for Fall '06 release), "There Was A Time" is lead-singer Axl Rose's ballad portraying his tumultous relationship with ex-fiancee, Victoria's Secret supermodel Stephanie Seymour. Seymour, who appeared in the Guns videos for "Don't Cry" and "November Rain" during her courtship with Rose, has since moved on to marry billionaire Peter Brandt. Rose, who went into reclusion following their breakup and subsequent separation of the original G'n'R lineup, has been tormented ever since by the woman whom he saw as his destiny to be with. When it was good, it was good and when it was bad, it was ugly... "There Was A Time" describes a relationship between Rose & Seymour that at times epitomized the definition of love. less
