There are several owners of electric vehicles who carry a 60 lb. genset (gasoline or propane generator) to turn their electric cars into "hybrids" when longer range is needed, according to the EV Album and VEVA (Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association, or V.E.V.A.) website. However, the "opportunity charging" technique is easier, and $1,200 cheaper than a 3K watt genset. This should be good info for Xebras (Zebras?) Reva, GEM, and other EV folks. Good thing, too, since electric cars ("Who Killed The Electric Car" is a good movie to watch) are 3/4 less-polluting to gassers.
