The Fayette County Commission voted 3 - 2 to rezone just under 40 acres from minimum 5-acre zoning to 1-acre zoning. The property owner, Scott McGregor of Kenwood Farms, LLC, intends to develope the property putting 22 single family homes on the land. Surrounding neighbors spoke against the rezoning. Commissioner Herb Frady made the motion to approve the rezoning, Commissioner Eric Maxwell seconded. The pair, with the swing vote of Chairman Jack Smith, voted to approve the rezoning to higher density. Commissioners Peter Pfeifer and Robert Horgan voted against the measure.
