Almost 800,000 children in the United States are reported missing or abducted each year, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. When a child disappears, every second counts to increase the likelihood of a safe return. A new program is helping to do just that. Team Adam provides rapid, on-site assistance to law enforcement agencies and families in cases of missing, abducted and exploited children. Its members are retired law-enforcement professionals with years of investigative experience at the federal, state and local level. Named after Adam Walsh, the abducted and murdered son of the co-founders of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), they recently received a donation from OnStar. In addition to the $300,000 donation, OnStar will also provide AMBER Alerts issued by the NCMEC into its call center's geographical mapping system. Produced for General Motors less
