Did they try to cover it up? Watch the video and decide for yourself. A few facts to keep in mind: It is a violation of Georgia State law for the County Commission to go into Executive Session (closed door, not open to the public or press) to discuss a legal matter without their attorney present. Secondly, official minutes of the meetings are made and posted. Additionally an affidavit is prepared and signed by the Board regarding the Executive Session. They do not have to give details, but they are certifying that they have discussed a legal, real estate or personnel matter (the only three things that can legally be discussed behind closed doors). The Board voted to go into Executive Session without an attorney to discuss a legal matter AFTER one of the Commissioners questioned the legality. The Chairman signs an affidavit certifying all issues discussed in the meeting. In this case, he certified the Board discussed a legal and a real estate matter. less
