http://www.lifeworks-international.com Highlights from the Lifeworks Australia community service summer camps and programs for teens. Working with the Australian Red Cross during this summer camp program, Lifeworks students participate primarily in aboriginal community projects. Beginning in Sydney, students commence project work as well as explore around the city. The program then moves to a rural area, where students assist with work at a medical center set up to support the local aboriginals. Participants will take an active role in learning about aboriginal history and customs, with a rare opportunity to experience their culture first hand. Students will learn how aboriginals live with the land, use bush medicines and preserve their ancient traditions. Students’ interaction and education is furthered with travel to the National Parks of the Northern Territories and then to Queensland, where the reef and rainforest meet. less
