以 CrossCountry 概念打造的 XC70 ，自 1997 年推出後成為 Volvo 旗下廣受歡迎的車型之一，，與雙生車 V70 最大的不同是，其主要市場並不在歐洲而是北美地區。國內曾經導入過前代 V70 ，但因後來休旅風潮盛行， XC70 儼然成為 Volvo 迷的新寵，以相同機能架構搭配高底盤設計，無疑更貼近國人用車需求，最後完全取代 V70 的地位。
