Guest Paul Gray Hoffman joins the editorial board of the Longines Chronoscope to discuss the Republican nominations of Dwight Eisenhower and opponent Robert Taft. Hoffman believes that at the Republican convention, Eisenhower will receive more votes for the presidential nomination than Taft. His opinion stems from recent gallop polls, which are generally correct, that Taft just cannot win. Hoffman cites differences in foreign policy as a possible reason for the Eisenhower vote. In his opinion, Hoffman, feels that Eisenhower is respected and will improve the climate in the United States by employing the best men for the job and devoting himself to peace.
