目斗嶼位於吉貝嶼北方，為澎湖群島中最北方之小島，島形呈橢圓形，由於該島附近有澎湖沿海最險惡的海底地形，附近海域礁密佈，海流湍急，因此於1902年在島上建了一座全亞東最高的鐵架燈塔：目斗嶼燈塔，附近海域水深常在一公尺上下，其西南岸邊則有2座規模不小的圓形石滬，海底珊瑚成林，淺藍色的熱帶魚穿梭在珊瑚礁，宛如是一座絢爛的海中龍宮。
