I wrote this song just before Veterans Day 2005. It was inspired by a blues version of The Peace Song that I arranged, but it morphed into something completely different. For me, it is a song about a mother mourning her daughter - who gave her life protecting our country. It's a song about war and, more specifically, about women in combat; however, I'm not opposed to women in combat - it's war that I find senseless and tragic. less
