As car navigation devices get more affordable, an increasing number of drivers are buying vehicles with GPS. OnStar, the leading provider of in-vehicle safety, security and communication services is catering to its growing market. OnStar announced the introduction of two new navigational services to complement and enhance its existing service. The first, destination download, enables subscribers with screen-based navigation systems to press a button and connect with an advisor. The advisor finds the location, sends it to the system and an icon pops up and asks ‘do you want to go now?’ The second service, a partnership with MapQuest.com called OnStar eNav, allows subscribers with a Turn-by-Turn Navigation-capable vehicle to find and save destinations on their computer and have them sent to their vehicle. The directions can then be accessed through voice-guided commands with a touch of a button. Produced for General Motors less
