A New York University Newspaper may have named Tampa, Florida the Top City for those in their 20’s back in 2004… but as those 20 something year olds enter the job market… they may soon have to go galavanting elsewhere as it is now considered to be the Number 2 city in the nation for job loss. The US Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics crowned California’s Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro area as the Number one Biggest Loser for unemployment. The Bureau announced that while California was down at 2%, Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area came in at 1.8% at the end of June… losing more than 23,000 jobs in a 12 month period. Florida’s unemployment rate also jumped up at 5.9 percent in June as compared to May when it was at 5.6 percent. less
