Honeywell International Inc. announced Friday it’s cutting nearly 290 jobs from Skaneatles, New York manufacturing facility. The upstate facility is said to be part of its imaging and mobility unit. An official with Honeywell says the company can’t continue making competitive products at the New York location. Instead it will move nearly all it’s manufacturing to Asia. The New York plant that once employed 600 workers will maintain some manufacturing for a Honeywell division that makes portable bar code scanning devices. The Honeywell Company is based in Morristown, New Jersey. less
