On 30th August 2008, at a special red carpet awards ceremony the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects were revealed. Now in their fifth year, The National Awards recognise the difference that Lottery-funded projects, both large and small, have made to local communities and aim to celebrate the achievements of the people behind them. The final 21 projects had been battling it out across seven categories; Arts, Education, Environment, Heritage, Health, Sports, and Charity / Voluntary. Each category had just one winner and received a £2,000 cash prize to spend as they wished. (This was not a lottery grant). less
