We had pet ducks that were being killed by racoons, so we got a trap. The police were freeing them far away. But when we got a skunk, the police put him to sleep with a needle on the end of a long pole. You can't easily let a skunk go without getting sprayed. My wife asked when the skunk would wake and was told it wouldn't. She cried for over an hour that she had caused the death of a skunk. 2 weeks later we got a 2nd skunk. So I called the police and told them my plan. They wanted to watch (they filmed this). I used the plastic cover that came with our couch, a newspaper bag for an arm, and trash bags around my legs. The skunk sprayed and sprayed–gloppy and grainy, and STINKY. Mr. Stinky was on the trigger and I couldn’t set the door open! Then I realized I had forgotten one thing–a hole for air!! I almost passed out and the police almost had to rescue me. I poked a hole, and finally got air, then stuck a stick in the side to hold the door. I let the police have the next skunk. less
