觀前，就是要用感恩心，前面的人為我們開路，所以拓荒者不斷地向前拓荒。可知到開路的人很辛苦，要撥開那些荊棘很辛苦；坎坷的路要走成一條平坦路，這必定要用心伸出雙手去開闢，去鋪路。慈濟現在已經人多了，人多力量大，但是這樣的力量，我們要讓它很平齊，很和齊，平齊，這是很重要。假如不和齊，就像在拔河一樣，有的人不小心放手了，拉的人就會往後退，會很危險；或者是沒有拉好，整隊都向前傾。所以我們總是在人多力大的時候，才要好好地調整力量。我們前面的人，路沒有走得正，後面的人差之毫釐，就失之千里。
