這首歌的背景主要是聲援大陸北京學運，完成在１９８９年５月２８日，而且發行時還未發生「６４天安門事件」！在當時，其實網路是 不像現在發達方便的，且與大陸之前的聯繫仍屬不暢通，所以為了將歌聲送至大陸，有透過廣播的方式、有利用海外組織在國外各個機場 ，針對赴大陸旅客免費散發音樂卡帶的方式，將此首歌曲傳至大陸。這是目前無法想像的大工程！
