This years Ottawa Marathon sponsored by ING was a huge success. The marathon course record was broken by Daniel Cheruiyot from Kenya. This years Ottawa marathon course was changed, it starts in Ottawa at Laurier and Elgin and heads into Hull, Quebec for a short distance then back across into Ottawa where the majority of the race takes place. Their are a couple of stretches where you run parallel to the famous Rideau canal. Ottawa is a new flatter, faster marathon course and makes for an excellent Boston Marathon qualifier. This years ING ottawa marathon was sold out and it has become Canada 's largest marathon. Canadian Lioudmila Kortchaguina won her third consecutive Canadian title. The Ottawa race weekend also holds a great 10K sponsored by MDS Nordion and a 5K,1/2 marathon and 2k fun less
