You are viewing my recut (I'm Neil Swint) of the 1976 film King Kong. This is the TV version I recut. This movie's main problem like most films (sadly this film has numerous problems), is it's length. Also considering that there are not alot of action sequences, the length in my opinion REALLY kills this film. The original TV edit clocks in at a very long 3 hours. My cut runs in under 2 hours and 10 minutes, which I would like to point out is shorter than the theatrical version which runs 2 hours and 14 minutes. The recutting of the tv edit is superior to the theatrical version in the following ways: the end comes off alot better as a key scene between Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange near the end of the movie was omitted in the theatrical version but not here; lots of unneccessary and quite simply BAD dialogue has been cut; many needless scenes are gone; numerous instances of Kong walking upright have been chopped; overall film has been tightened as much as possible. less
