We are discussing the issue of radiation exposure to railroad workers who have in some ways moved, handled or worked with radioactive scrap or radioactive substances being moved by railroad to or from nuclear weapons or nuclear processing facilities in the United States. I am currently representing railroad workers who have contracted cancers and various types of blood disorders which they and certain experts in the field assert was caused by radioactive contamination that they handled for many years on the railroads, in or near Oak Ridge nuclear weapons facility in my cases. However, nuclear weapon production facilities were located all over the US, and movement of radioactive substances by rail occurred in many states. Of course, you will never know if what level of radiation you are receiving if you worked around radioactive substances-the effects are not felt instantly but ... less
