At age 11 my Dad was teaching me about a couple of People singers & entertainers; "Nina Simone" is one of them. She was a child prodigy playing the piano at the age of four. She could sing jazz standards, gospel and spirituals, classical music, folk songs of diverse origin, blues, pop, songs from musicals and opera, African chants as well as her own compositions.
