Surprisingly, new research from the American College of Surgeons found two-thirds of women (66%) admit they were not aware or did not know if breast cancer treatment centers and facilities can be accredited. However, where women choose to get breast cancer treatment can impact the care they receive, and ultimately the results they achieve. To be “accredited,” breast cancer centers must follow a comprehensive and consistent set of standards for treatment based on medical guidelines and evidence.
