The basic premise is this: eliminate all fees and taxes paid to every governmental agency except the annual payment to one central taxing authority of 2% of your net worth, says Mitchell Roth author of Tax Back America: The 2% Solution. The problem is that the middle class in this country is shrinking in population, and economic and political significance. The rich, however, keep getting richer. The 2% solution would eliminate all taxes except tax on wealth. Everybody would be taxed 2% annually on the wealth that it holds. There would be 5 areas that would benefit from such a tax system: - Fairness - Meritocracy - Morality - Reduction of government cost - Better policy decisions This solution would eliminate sales taxes, state taxes, local taxes, excise taxes, and all taxes except on your measurable wealth. All forms of taxation and all fees of government services would be included in the annual 2% tax on wealth. Only the rich might oppose such a proposal because they pay less
