Eddie Fisher was a key element in the turbulence that encompassed Elizabeth Taylor’s life from 1956 to 1964, and we all go through rough patches in life. Dame Elizabeth has had her share. Her very loving husband, Mike Todd, and famous 1950’s vocal celebrity, Eddie Fisher, were very good friends, and had been close for years. Along with Eddie’s wife, actress Debbie Reynolds…the two couples socialized by traveling the globe together. Tragically, Mike Todd was killed in a plane crash in 1958, bringing Eddie and Elizabeth together, and bonding by sharing their grief, which they soon interpreted as love. Eddie quickly ended his already alleged unhappy marriage to Debbie and he and Elizabeth married in 1959. But he had always been in love with her…and only her, and always would be. Soon, Elizabeth unfortunately realized that she had married him for the wrong reasons.
